Payment Options

Pay On-line
There are two primary differences between paying your REMC bill on-line through our website and paying on-line through your bank.
  1. When you pay on-line through our website your payment is immediate after you hit the submit button.
  2. When you pay on-line through your bank, your payment could take 5 to 7 days to get to the REMC because of the bank’s processing system. This means you may incur late penalties or fees because we didn’t get your payment on time. If you choose to pay on-line through the bank, please pay your bill 5-7 days early to make sure late fees are not charged to your REMC account.

Invisible Check
After completing this simple form and sending it back to us with a voided check, we can automatically deduct your billing amount from the account of your choice each month. You can choose your checking or savings account for the withdrawals.

You will still receive a monthly billing statement with the information currently included on your bill. This statement will have instructions to not pay the bill because the billing amount has been automatically deducted from your bank account.

All withdrawals are made on the 17th of the month. If the 17th falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, the withdrawal is made on the following business day.

Budget Billing
Sign up for budget billing in June.

If you like the idea of paying exactly the same amount each month for your electricity, then budget billing could be right for you. If you operate on a monthly budget, then knowing what to expect each month could be beneficial to you in planning your monthly expenses.

The program works by looking at a one or two year history of your usage at your current location. A budget amount is then figured, and that becomes the amount that you will pay for electricity each month. You will need at least a 12 month history to participate in the plan.

You will still receive a monthly electric bill showing your meter reads and actual use. At the end of the budget period — your June bill payable in July —  your account will be settled up. If you owe any extra money, you will need to pay it and if you paid too much for the year, the overpayment will be returned to you.

Budget accounts are not allowed to go delinquent. If this should happen, you may be removed from the program.

If you are already on the budget billing plan, you will be automatically renewed on the plan each year.

Overdue Bill
The due date for all bills is seventeen (17) days after the billing date. For residential and general service customers, a late fee of 10% of the first $3.00 or less, plus 3% on the net in excess of the first $3.00 will be assessed to all bills received after the due date. If any delinquent balance exists, all payments the Cooperative receives shall first be applied to the delinquency. For all other customer classes, the late payment charge shall be five percent (5%) of the current bill unless the customer’s contract for service establishes different terms.

It is important that you contact us when your bill is overdue - we will make an effort to help you make payment arrangements.

If you fall on hard times and find that you cannot pay your bill, there may be additional help available to you. Contact your township trustee or church for assistance. You may also qualify for a government Energy Assistance Program through Jasper County Community Services, Inc. at 219.866.8071.
