Incentives to upgrade your commercial and industrial lighting and HVAC available in 2011! We have offered a variety of programs to help homeowners improve their energy efficiency. Now we’re expanding that effort to help our commercial and industrial members use less electricity, too.! Between now and December 31, 2011 commercial and industrial members who make specific upgrades to lighting and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) could qualify for incentives. These incentives are being offered through our power supplier, Wabash Valley Power Association (WVPA). Applications are available online at www.wvpa.com/incentiveapplication/, Why would a co-op want members to use less electricity? We believe reducing the demand for power makes more sense than building new power plants. For example, one plant currently under construction in southern Indiana is expected to cost nearly $3 billion. Using less power will save our members money today and it will help you keep bills lower in years to come. The lighting incentive program provides incentives for retrofitting interior lighting equipment in existing facilities. The amount of the incentive depends upon the type of improvement. The HVAC incentive program has a similar structure. Pre-approval may be required for some incentives. After the project is complete, all required information and documentation must be received at WVPA within 60 days of the completed installation. Complete incentive details appear on the incentive application. We encourage all of our commercial and industrial members to look into this special incentive. With the help of our C&I Incentive program and our residential energy efficiency programs, hopefully, we can help keep electricity affordable for many years to come.
Jasper County REMC residential rebate programs. All programs will continue until further notice. View our Rebate Program bill stuffer here. Program #1 - Refrigerator and Freezer Recycling Program $35 Reward, Free Pickup, No Paperwork, No Purchase Necessary A refrigerator recycling program that pays people $35 for each unit scheduled for free pickup has been expanded to the customers of Jasper County REMC through partnerships with the Wabash Valley Power Association and JACO Environmental. This program offers members the opportunity to make money, save money, and get rid of unnecessary and inefficient refrigerators and freezers. In addition to the $35 reward, the program will also benefit members by helping them save up to $150 a year in energy costs as a result of lower electricity usage. Typically, the appliances recycled through the program are outdated units used for extra storage and kept in garages and basements. But the convenience of chilling an extra six-pack and some leftovers can come with a steep price. Refrigerators manufactured before 1990 can use three times more electricity than new appliances. To receive the $35 reward, people who qualify only have to schedule a pickup time to have their old, working refrigerator removed. Appliance recycler JACO Environmental will then recycle refrigerators through a process that returns 95 percent of their material back into the manufacturing stream. It also safely extracts various toxic components that are found inside refrigerators, including contaminated oils, mercury and CFCs. Click here to schedule a pick up of a Refrigerator or Freezer The refrigerator recycling program is not a traditional rebate program because there is no purchase of a new appliance necessary. Offer dates are subject to change without notice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Program #2 – Washing Machine Rebate Washer Rebate ends December 31, 2011.
