Our FREE water heater program is in transition.

Jasper County REMC offers a free electric water heater program with free parts and service during business hours but we are changing this program to keep up with our commitment to follow “best industry practices.” You have asked us to keep power costs as low as possible and changing this program will help us do just that. We are working toward installing new load management switches on all of the electric water heaters we’ve distributed over the years.

As of June 1, 2012, we will not provide free parts and labor on electric water heaters that do not have a new load management switch attached. We will, however, work on the unit if you let us install the switch at the time of repair. The program will also still include service and parts for your electric water heater that you did not get from us, as long as you let us install the switch.

Contact us if you need a water heater load management switch installed. There is no cost to you for the switch or switch installation.

The REMC offers a free replacement program for unrepairable electric water heaters. Also, if a customer switches from a fossil fuel water heater to an electric water heater, we will provide a free 40 or 50 gallon unit and up to $50 for electrical parts necessary for installation. Builders of new homes on our lines are also entitled to a free 40 or 50 gallon water heater for the new construction. 80 gallon water heaters are available for a discounted fee of approximately $250.00 (subject to change with market fluctuations). Jasper County REMC does NOT install water heaters.

Contact us if you need a water heater.
